Making the jump from down under to New York has raised the profile of Michael Angel to new heights. Back in Melbourne for the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF), Angel was both a speaker at the week’s designer forum and the closing designer at L’Oreal Paris Runway 7.

It’s hard not to become smitten by Angel’s trademark digital prints – this time in eco futuristic looking patterns and bold orange, red and blue hues, in a similar vein to Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 offerings only less reptilian. An intricately laser cut out dress and wiry metallic sheer pieces were also highlights.
