1. A Forgiving Moment

I could feel the strange silence settling on my skin.
Deep chills ran through my spine,
I tried my best not to look behind.
I looked at you sitting alone, like the last one left.
I saw the sadness in your eyes as you struggled for your breath.
I saw the tears you cried for me, by the light slowly flickering.
I forgot our harsh words, our heat, our tears, and all our cruel bickering.
You raised your hand…then tapped the seat,
You hadn’t had company for many weeks.
And when I walked over to where you sat,
You clasped my hand and whisperd, “I’m back”.

2. Communicate

sometimes i don’t know what to do
when every week you say something new
i have tried so hard to be open
and repair the trust i had broken
i wanted to live with you so much
to be a couple and family and such
i tried calling you daily at work
please hold.. and i’m still a jerk
i mean every time i say anything
you think i’m mad or something
we both start off defensive
and our words become abrasive
i want to be a good dad
i don’t ever want her sad
we fell in love different
then who we are at present
but i know the love is there
so we need to meet in the middle everywhere
on all family and love issues
and on all good and bad news
if you want to live with me
we need to talk about money
get our lives on the right track
and by golly get our relationship back
if this sounds good to you
heres what i think we should do
see how much we have in cash
and find a place for us to crash
a place to make our own for a while
drop the insecurities act its not our style
now let us be a family
let us raise our baby Kylah Railee

3. Sorry

The phrase “I’m Sorry” you may agree
Has turned into a social amenity
We say “I’m Sorry” more than Brenda Lee
Which was a hit song for her back in 1960.

You may not want to acknowledge the damage you’ve done
The pain that you’ve brought to spouse, daughter or son.
But if you’ve done wrong you must see the light
To take a pro-active step to returning things right

There will remain feelings that you can’t erase
Lost time and memories that you can’t replace
Because of your actions now nothings the same
Take a look in your mirror and know that there’s blame.

Maybe those words are one’s you won’t do.
They may not exist in your new age point of view.
Or, don’t want to hear the anger, it might make you blue
It’s easier to leave your loved ones hurt and askew.

Just saying I’m sorry is not all it takes
No magical words to make gone the mistakes
Begin the road back with those words from your heart
They do not mark the end but maybe a start.

Your family’s your bond like no other glue.
A great family we had, can we renew?
Deep in your heart you know what to do.
If I can say “I’m sorry” then I think you can too.
