Atif Aslam musician (nickname aadee) a well known playback singer in music industry of Pakistan. Atif’s was born in wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan and his birthday or date of birth is 12 March 1983. His birth name is Muhammad Atif Aslam and his height is 5’8. His father name is Mohammed Aslam, a retired engineer. Atif has three brothers, Shahzad, Sheraz and Shahbaz who handles concerts and his wardrobe. Atif’s kinder garden started in Model town Lahore at Kimberley Hall School. His first stage manifestation was in a fancy dress show at his school when he was in grade–1 where he performed as Imran Khan “ Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team”. Since then cricket was like a passion to him. Atif attended high School at PAF College, Lahore, where he played Kabaddi and became interested in music. He attended Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS) to do his Bachelors in Computer Science (BCs).
During his college life he began to take an interest in music. His eldest brother had a collection of more than 8,000 songs of almost all music genres. Atif developed a habit of listening to all kinds of music in his house. One day he was singing with his friends at the college canteen. His friends insisted that he participate in the singing competition on Independence Day celebrations at PAF College Lahore and Sargodha in 1998.
Atif released his first album Jal Pari on 18th July 2004, its all over the nation by the country’s leading record label, Sound Master and IC records & the results declared it as the best selling album of the year within just 5 months of the release and it is still continuing. Because of the continuous love of people to Atif , lime light, interviews, fans, autographs, snaps, concerts, get-togethers, traveling all came to him at once and Atif was really stretched up for all this because in the mean time he had the final exams of BCS and he cleared his Bachelorz in Computer Science ( hons) from University of Central Punjab.
Working together, the pair recorded the song Aadat. It became popular on different musical websites in Pakistan. The music video for Aadat was shot one day in a warehouse in Karachi. Due to personal problems in the band, Atif Aslam left Jal and became solo.
His song Woh Lamhay fetch him the nomination as best singer for 2005 in almost all the film awards of bollywood including Film Fare Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and IIFA Awards etc. He just got nominated for Best Playback Singer (Male) for his song “Tere Bin” from movie “Bas Ek Pal” for Filmfare Awards 2007.
Atif Aslam’s soulful voice crossed the Pakistani border and reached India when Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt called Atif Aslam to seek his consent to put “Woh Lamhey” as a song in the soundrack of his new motion picture, Zeher. After that, Atif Aslam’s music spread across to people and radio stations that play it all over the subcontinent now.
His latest Bollywood venture is Prince in which he has sung four songs, (Tere Liye, Aa Bhi Ja Sanam, Kaun Hoon Main and O Mere Khuda). The songs are composed by musician Sachin Gupta, who has had a number of hits with Atif in the past.
He has won several awards in both India and Pakistan like the Sahara Sangeet Awards for Best Playback Singer and Best Debut Singer; MTV Style Lycra Awards for Most Stylish Musician; 2nd Jazz Indus Music Awards for Best song, composition and lyrics for his song Aadat and Pakistan’s highest civilian award Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2008.
