Skin Care with Natural Essential Oils

Everyone has experienced some type of skin affliction that could be treated using Essential oils. Simple scrapes and cuts are common for those who work with their hands. Insect bites, burns caused by the sun or working in the kitchen, allergies, rashes, and swelling, all may be treated with the proper Aromatherapy treatment.

Lemon oil

Lemon oil and other citrus oils are great for clearing up acne fast by removing the excess sebum and oil on the face. It has great healing and restorative qualities especially when applied to skin care. lemon oil can brighten ones complexion by removing dead skin cells. However, it can cause skin discoloration when exposed to direct sunlight, therefore its imperative to stay out of the sun immediately after applying lemon oil.

Carrot Seed Oil

Carrot seed essential oil is yellowish-orange in color, and has a unique spicy-sweet fragrance. It is very high in beta-carotene, and therefore extremely nourishing for the skin. With its ability to stimulate skin elasticity, carrot seed essential oil has been used in a number of skin care products.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is another wonderful oil because it has great medicinal properties such as antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and analgesic. Therefore it has the amazing abililities to heal, clean, and sooth irritated, inflamed skin conditions. It is fast acting and can clear up acne, blemishes and pimples quickly.

German Chamomile Oil

The German chamomile essential oil is so intensely blue that it normally turns many cosmetics teal, and so aromatic that it usually overpowers any formula it is added to. As a skin care medicine, it is extremely soothing, anti-inflammatory and antifungal. It can be used for all skin types even sensitive ones. From my personal experience, German chamomile essential oil is best for a sunburn home remedy.

Myrrh Oil

Myrrh oil has been used for centuries and in ancient times used in a balm to treat almost any ailment. It has been known to treat chapped skin, wrinkles, rashes, blemishes, eczema, and bacteria in the skin.

Lavender Oil

Lavender essential oil is one of a few essential oils that can be directly used on the skin without diluting. It is a powerful, yet gentle antiseptic that is good for all skin types and safe for everyone, even children and pregnant women. It has been widely used as an effective home remedy for minor burns, sunburn and bee stings. To heal a minor burn, you can dab lavender essential oil on it directly, using cotton, or you can add about 10 – 15 drops of lavender oil to a cool bath, which will create a very soothing sensation to the burned area and relax your whole body.
