Cheese on toast is a snack made by placing cheese on slices of toasted bread. It is a comparatively simple meal, popular in the United Kingdom.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of stale bread
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- 1 cup milk
- Pepper and salt to taste
- Fat
Instructions:
- Boil milk.
- Fry slices of bread in deep fat.
- Remove from fat and drain.
- Place bread in milk until moist.
- Season.
- Place in baking dish and cover with grated cheese.
- Bake for 5 minutes at 375.
